The Quiet Tower
The Quiet Tower
The Quiet Tower is a Story of Hubris and Creative Differences.
The Quiet Tower is inspired by Avery Alder’s The Quiet Year, which is a mapmaking game about a community facing hard times. This game is about building something ambitious, at first together, and then in spite of each other, until it all falls down. Like The Quiet Year, this game is played with a large sheet of paper everyone will be drawing on. Unlike The Quiet Year, it is also played with a Jenga tower.
The Builders were gripped by a vision most grand: a colossal tower, spearing the sky. Their vision will not come to pass. They may get close, but this is a game of them falling away from each other, and bringing the tower down with them, until the debris lies all around them.
